But we need a real detective around here. I'm someone who notices things and sees things and has a real knack for piecing things together as they really are. And I won't be cruel - it's a fault of mine to be meticulously nice. So read on, why don't you? I promise it won't kill you ; ).

Liz is back, my dears. And it seems Sugarloot will be okay.

Yes, that's right. Our home isn't closing. It's just changing maintainers. Which, of course, means Liz isn't back for good. But she will be staying for a while more to adjust us to the new people.

She says on her profile, and I quote: "I love my SugarLooters! Thanks for all of your comments and concerns. I am ok! SugarLoot is not closing down. It's just going through some changes. Sorry things have been crazy around here lately." There were a few other comment regarding the new people, but she took them down. Anyway. Things will be getting back to normal. And I hope Liz proved to all you who doubted her that she is a good, trustworthy person.

Things will be changing. And one of those changes is, I will probably be deactivated now that Sugarloot is being maintained again. I certainly hope this isn't the case. And I promise you, I won't close my account myself. But just in case they see it fit to shut me down again...I want to take my leave with dignity this time.

So, if I'm not here tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, or next week, thank you for reading, appreciating, and contributing to my blog. I hope you had fun with my writing, and fingers crossed that you will continue to do so.

Hold up, ladies! I've got some horribly shocking news today, about:

SUGARLOOT'S VERY OWN ANNE BOLEYN.

No, none of us are involved in a sensuous plot to take over a crown (I think). But one among us does share one of her - ahem - special physical traits.

Yes. That's right. One among us has:

SIX TOES.

And this person is none other than...Adam. The perfectly normal, yellow-skinned, bald, COMPLETELY INCONSPICUOUS...Adam.



Shocking.

In other news, Logen escaped her straitjacket, and we are forced to face the consequences:

Hello, ladies. A couple of you left your thoughts on the Sugarloot-Is-Homeless fiasco, and there were some rather interesting hypotheses. My favorite, however, brought up something that I think we should all think about. The following idea is courtesy of an anonymous reader.
If you look at Liz's profile, you will see a lot of angry comments. Our anonymous reader brought up that this anger might just be misdirected. I know we all think of Liz as the mother of this site (actually, the big sister), and so why shouldn't we be angry at her for its abandonment? Well, you may be forgetting that SL is managed by Alloy. Liz is not the sole mastermind behind this business. And...she has a boss.
Any decision to close this site would probably not be made by her. For all we know, she fought tooth and nail to keep it running. And for all we know, she had no way of keeping it from happening. So...maybe she doesn't deserve the anger. Keep that in mind. She is our Liz, after all - we love her. :)
Thanks for bringing that up, anonymous reader (you know who you are). It should put things in perspective.
Please, girls, keep telling me your opinions on this subject.

Well! Look who's back! I am sneakily taking advantage of the MIA-status of Sugarloot's beloved facilitators to re-emblazon myself smack dab in the middle of your presence. Here's to seeing if they're really gone - if I'm not here tomorrow, we know ONE of them is still watching us ;).

As two months have come and gone, some dirt has stacked itself up for me. Hurrah! To recap the goings-on on our lovely site, here's what's happened:

Paige reopened Glamazon, and, according to Logen, might be holding a li'l modeling contest for all us pretties out here.
Tiffany, April, and Christy have all got a special little something set to visit them this coming fall. Congratulations, you guys.
Juliet is finally premiering her series, the "Private" Sims Movie project, and is organizing an "e-party" for the event.
Aforementioned Sims 2 addict with a name starting with "J" is also holding voice auditions for a series by the name of "Sex, Lies, and Municipal Government", which she will not be filming, so as not to interfere with "Private"; however she will be writing the script.
Dawn and April did not steal the money for Steve's fundraiser (told ya so).
Irene supplied a vehement defense of Dawn and April.
AND, the absolutely most notable event of all, Sugarloot is now apparently an orphan. Aw. There's not much that we know of what's going on, other than Liz deleted her profile info, set her status as "It's Been Fun" (it still is fun, darling), and then, apparently, skedaddled. Since then, none of the contests have ended, the new contests haven't started, and prizes aren't being shipped. Hmm. It carries the scent of a salmon.
And everyone seems to have an opinion about it. Some of our lovely ladies have left none-too-pleased-sounding messages on Liz's profile, accusing her of illegal activity and cowardice. Others have taken a more mild approach to find out what's happening. Logen has sent several affectionate messages to Liz, declaring that she misses her and that she would like to know what is going on (we all do). In the meantime, she has written several Blogen entries about the subject, stating that she does not think the site is closing, just going through some changes, and that she hopes everyone will continue to use it as a social networking site, as it would be a shame for us all to lose touch. Well put, Miss L.

Hello, ladies, and happy Wednesday. Let's talk about a topic which we all know plenty about - fakes.

Sugarloot attracts a lot of fakes, as pretty much everyone knows. And is it any surprise? Our fair site boasts valuable prizes - iPods, Canons, and $300 gift cards. It's no wonder that cheaters pop up now and then, completely desperate for material goods and completely self-conscious, apparently, about their own capacity for winning contests. It would almost be sad, if it wasn't completely sketchy. A certain poser-poacher has returned to our site recently. I will confirm her identity once she gives me permission to do so - but I'm sure you all can guess who it is ;). Within seconds of returning, she detected a number of fakes and alerted them to me. The proof is in and here it is ladies - the first poser to ever be outed on ShutUrLips. Hope she feels special ;).

Her name is Whitney, and her profile link is http://sugarloot.teen.com/profile/979286982. If you consider yourself pretty knowledgeable about social networking sites, you will probably laugh the instant you see this girl's page. Check out her pictures.

Honestly? Some posers are sneaky as hell - remember Ellen back during the summer - but "Whitney" obviously didn't think things through. As you've probably recognized, those pictures are of Kira Doo. As in, the poster child for "scene girl". In fact, if you google image scene girl, she comes up as one of the first images. Whitney, Whitney, Whitney. WHY would you use the pictures of a girl who is practically an internet icon? I hate to lob insults, but that's just plain idiotic.

And uh oh. She broke contest rules! Things don't look good for our Miss Whitney here. I think that iPod and Canon just got pulled right of reach. Do you agree?

More on It Girl

Hello, ladies. I've still nothing to report - instead, I'd like to elaborate on my weekly It Girl contest. There are two purposes for this - obviously, the first being just a sort of honor for the girls who are picked.

Duh, I know what you're thinking, how dumb and shallow. Well, I fully agree - it is a bit pointless and shallow - and so not me. So of course I have an ulterior motive. I want to know who you want to hear about. SO many times we get excited about new gossip sites, only to discover that they focus on the same people time after time after time. How one-dimensional. And how boring. Well, I hope to be anything but boring. The It Girl contests will tap me in to the type of people you want me to focus on.

That being said, being an It Girl is NOT A BAD THING. The It Girls will not be the subject of malicious gossip and libel. Why? Because, as I've said, I'm a benevolent detective. I will not be writing negatively. So instead, think of being voted an It Girl as a door opened to ... publicity. Eloquently put? Am I being theatrical? Well, that's me.

Happy Tuesday, ladies. I'm currently indulging in my Tuesday evening treat - I'm nestled at my favorite table at Grand Central Station food court, MacBook on my lap, eating sushi and a Jr Frosty from Wendy's. Weird ;). But anyway. It's my first post, and I hope I don't disappoint. Unfortunately, I've no secrets to share yet. Gotta give me some time to do some digging. But I do have a proposition.

We know it exists - there's a hierarchy within Sugarloot. It's not a bad thing - this is not medieval Europe - but it can't be denied that there's a level of It Girls among us. Who are they? We all know the answer - they're the ones with tons of comments, plenty of contest victories, and pictures so gorgeous the rest of us can't look directly at them.

My proposition? Who do you think the It Girl of Sugarloot is? Each week I will be naming one, and it's up to you readers to nominate them. So who are Sugarloot's queens? Let me know ;). There's not much else to be said as of yet, ladies, but give me time - something's gotta come up. After all, are we not living in the land of drama?
