I want to start this off by thanking everyone who sent messages thinking of me and my family. Yes, we are stationed on Ft Hood, yes, my husband was not too far from the tragedy as it happened. Thankfully, he is ok.

With that said, I am asking that everyone, no matter what your beliefs or faith, please take some time and pray or have a moment of silence for all of those involved. At this time, there are 12 dead, and 31 injured...but many of those are in critical condition. All the victims were preparing to go to war and serve our country. Many of them had survived the war in previous tours only to be taken down by one of their own comrads.

You all know that I hold being apart of the military family near and dear to my heart. Anyone who wears the uniform, their spouses, their children and other familiy members are apart of my family as well. That is a code that we take very seriously. My huge extended family is hurting terribly tonight. The shock of it all is still lingering. I go on post every single day. Not worried about anything, thinking I am surrounded by America's finest and that nothing can go wrong. It will be a long time before I can go on post without anxiety and fear.

Please pray for everyone involved, their families, their extended families. There are no words to describe the grief and sorrow I feel right now, I can not imagine what the families of the victims are feeling.

This really puts life into perspective. When you wake up every morning, you never know if you will make it through the day or if your loved ones will come home from work. Most of us really take life for granted. We act like spoiled people that are promised a million tomorrows.

To end this, this is what I have to say. To anyone on here that I have upset, I am truly sorry. I am human, and will defend and protect myself and my family without end, which is what I have had to do many times on here. But you know, it isn't worth it. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter what anyone thinks of me. God gets the final say, and as long as I am in his good graces, that is all that matters. So for anyone who wants to say mean and horrible things about me, go ahead. I will not fight back or try to "prove" anything. And to the others on here having to do the same thing...don't. Life is too short and too precious to waste on negativity. Treasure every moment as if it were your last and love your spouses, children and family with all you have because you have no idea when you might not be able to.
