First off, I just want to say how excited I am for this AMAZING opportunity! BIG Thank yous to SugarLoot and the Producers of "Private" for hosting an open audition such as this. And to Kate Brian, for writing this incredible book series...THANK YOU! Kiran would be a truly wonderful role to play, and if I were able to land the role, I would be the HAPPIEST girl in the WORLD! I have worked very hard over the past few years, as many of these girls have, but being that I am from where I am from even with agents, getting seen for these sort of projects is rare, so THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for this INCREDIBLE opportunity!
ABOUT ME:
My name is Jessica Von and I am an actress and model! I was born and raised in Vancouver, Canada, though I now reside in the U.S. I discovered acting in high school when the theater program seemed like an easy way to avoid homework, but what I ended up finding was my TRUE PASSION!! I immersed myself in training and performance, but soon realized that I would need something to fall back on: the dreaded day job. I graduated from one of Canada's most respected make-up schools as a special-effects artist in 2005.
I immediately put my new skills to the test on the set of the horror film "Bloody Mary" less than a week after graduation. I was hired to assist the key special effects artist, but as fate would have it I found myself the head of the department, responsible for dozens of complicated effects and character designs. It was a true baptism of fire. To make things even more challenging, I was also asked to take on one of the supporting roles in the film after a scheduling conflict arose with the actress. "Bloody Mary" was my first professional credit as both an actress and an effects artist. It went on to be distributed across North America, Asia and Europe.
After that experience, I continued to build my resume by working behind the scenes on as many films and television shows as possible: from "Wickerman" to the hit TV series "Supernatural" and "Kyle XY". It never really mattered what job I did, so long as I could stay on set. I have been everything from a lead actress in front of the camera, to a P.A. hauling garbage and wiping up spills on my hands and knees in front of show executives and directors. Anything to stay on set...right?...yeah...hahaha
All of these experiences helped me gain perspective, appreciation and respect for every position needed on set. It also kept a constant fire lit under my butt being that I was the one holding doors for the actors with the jobs I so desperately wanted. But, now when I get the opportunity to be in front of the camera I know how lucky I am to be there.
My plans for the near future are now focused on my acting career and getting as many of the foreign rights sold on my latest film.
Thanks for stopping by and learning a bit about me!
