The Way IT used to be.....
1. For sum reason i FEEL LIKE sl contests are gettn harder and harder to win.
2. Sugarloot just isn't the way it used to be. Where'd everybody go?
3. As you can see im not one who likes change.

im not tryna diss anybody o a particular group juss my thoughts, free verse n what not.

older brother avoided him...outside the house of course.
said being seen w/ him tarnished his rep.
IS THE WORLD'S OPINION MORE IMPORTANT THAN SHOWING LOVE TO YOUR BRO?
He was caught between both worlds.
trying to impress people with his "old" skateboard tricks one day and stolen goods from the corner store the next.
finally after switiching back and forth so much he lost himself...completely.
let's see what "side" he picked.
slacked on hw..actually slacked is an understatement he didnt do it at all.
got kicked out....full scholarship vanished.
IS BEING SMART WHACK, LAME, UNCOOL?
since at his neighborhood school they didnt check attendance.he never went.
suddenly had a new found dream to be the next jay-z.
spent his time each day..writing rhymes.
brother laughed at him..said he was wasting time.
straight a's always came to him but writing didnt..writer's block.
he soon became ashamed and lost.
drugs became his bestfriend.
MOST TIMES UNLESS YOU CAN DRIBBLE A BALL OR CAN WRITE A RHYME YOUR INTELLGIENCE IS OFTEN DEEMED INFERIOR.....PROVE YOURSELF RIGHT.
after a while he finally gained some sense and got a job at the corner store.
he used to laugh at these ppl saying he was gonna do betta, now look at him.
dreams once again deferred.
Suprisingly one day he saw his recent classmate Mark..... Marrk was surprised also to see this is what devon had become.
what was three months ago seeemed like years.
Devon was embarassed....he was at the top of his class and now look at him a janitor for a corner store earning below minimum wage.
cant go back to school..to late.
at his nighborhood school he gets angry because the teachers look at him funny when he talks proper.
He refuses to dumb down.....he's finding himself.
Goes to school next year with his head up and proper speech.
they laugh but he doesnt care.
he though it was bad staying back, but this other dude in his class was 21 to his 18.
recent colleages at harvard and princeton, but he still doesnt care, he keeps his head up.
WHY DON'T SOME OF US TAKE LIFE SERIOUSLY? GET OFF YOUR ASS AND MAKE SOMETHING FOR YOURSELF.
fortunately, he got it good.
all of us arent brainicacs.
but all of us are also not born artist star music artists.
follow your heart and do what makes you happy.
just because someone tells you you cant doesnt mean that its true.

Why is it that..you have to be tough and "go hard" to be a man?
Why is it that women are only sex symbols and not commonly seen as strong intelluctuals?
Just because you dont have all the money in the world doesnt mean you didnt make it.
If it's your dream you betta be damn sure you made it. Stop comparing yourself and just be you.

Why do we laugh when we talk proper....commonly, unfortunately known as "white". We dont even aknowledge ourselves as the bit most intelligent.
We used to have morals.
we used to have respect for ourselves and others.
Not saying that all of us are lost, just saying that some of us are being directed on the wrong paths.
We worship drugdealers, hustlers, and congratulate each other on who got money the quickest, regardless of the way we got it.
Schools now have daycares, seeing a girl under 18 w/ a baby is a common picture.
want happened to that real head nodding hip-hop.
these days i have to search hard to found some decent non-generic hip-hop.
i mean im not gonna front like i dont swag surf and soulja boy occasionally, but i cant listen to that 5 times in a row.
i can listen to a lupe song like 10 times and feel like it hasnt been enough.
The media has become materialistic and doest let us shine to our full potential.
they shun real music so that we seem stupid and incapable of making good music unless we are gangsters.
I'm really tired of turning on the radio and hacing to turn it off..5 min later.
What's going on?

im just tired...
but not tired enough to give up w/ a fight.
I want ALL o MOST of us to be real again.......
