This is The Story of A Girl
This book is about Jennifer. She is a growing pre-teen who rarely sees her parents. She is seeking a way out of her house into the free world in which she has never been.
This is the story of a girl. Her name was Jennifer Andrea Hamilton. She was born to a young couple who settled down in Chester, Illinois. As a little girl she was content as an only child and she didn’t mind the fact that everyday her parents worked. And every night they came home to find her asleep in Nanny Mill as arms. Growing older she realized that its not so fun being alone with Nanny Milla everyday. And here we begin to tell the story of eleven year-old Jennifer.
“Milla, will you read me a story?”Jenny asked ever so politely. “Not now dearest I’ve got to finish dishes and cook a roast.” She replied sorrowfully. So Jennifer sighed and walked off. She didn’t know what to do. She had read every book in the house, even her mothers’. She wasn’t allowed outside, Milla couldn’t handle it. School was only four times a week, a tutor was brought to the house. Jennifer dreamed about school and friends. The only thing she knew about the outdoor world is what she read in books and what she saw when she gazed out the window.
Walking slowly up the stairs and entering her room, Jennifer opened her window and sat in the seat next to it. She could smell the flowers in their last autumn bloom and feel the warm breeze on her cheeks. She longed so much to run through the grass and pick a bouquet of flowers for the dinning table.
“Your mother and father will be home shortly Jenny, so tidy up your room and wash up for dinner.” Nanny Milla hollered up the staircase. “Ok.” .” Jenny replied annoyed. Her room wasn’t even the slightest bit messy. You could tell it was hard for her to live with Milla all day long and hardly at all with her parents. Just Milla, and the occasional tutor throughout the year. She kept telling herself ‘just a few more days, mother and father will let me go to school, they must!’’ Try as she might, she couldn’t convince herself. So Jenny recruited mainly to her room. Or, as Milla calls it, he hideaway. The beautiful pale yellow walls and her white furniture made her room stand out from the rest of the dull, sour looking house.
