The first mate runs down into the captain's cabin and says, "captain, you had better come up on deck and have a look!" The captain grabs his periscope and goes up on the ships deck. He looks through his periscope to the north, and see's a pirate ship coming right towards his ship. He turns to his first mate and says, "go get my RED shirt and the prepair the men for battle." He does so. Shortly after, the pirate ship boards the captains ship and a battle takes place. A while later, the captain's crew are able to fend off the pirates. A week later, the first mate wakes the captain up, "captain, you must come up and have a look!" The captain looks through his periscope and see's one pirate ship coming in from the north and one coming in from the south. The captain turns to his first mate, "hurry, go get me my RED shirt and then prepair the men for battle!" "Aye, aye captain" says the first mate. "May I ask a question first? Why before every battle do you change into your RED shirt?" The captain responds, "well you see, if I get wounded by a pirate's sword, my men would worry about me instead of fighting their best fight. So by wearing a RED shirt it will hide the fact that I have been wounded and bleeding and my men will not be distracted." A short while later, the two pirate ships board, and a much longer, bloodier fight takes place. But after several hours the captains crew are able to defeat the pirates and both pirate ships leave. A week later the first mate, in a panic, runs down to get the captain to come up on deck and have a look. He looks through his periscope, and to his shock, he see's one pirate ship heading towards them from the north, one from the south, one from the east, and one from the west. The captain turns to his first mate with some despair and says, "Go get me my BROWN pants and then prepair the men for battle!"
