You have no idea what poverty really is, maybe it is your maid that makes your bed each morning. Always having a list of friends to do things with because that list was started at birth by you mother.

i think being an It Girl means having confidence. From getting clothes at good will or designer labels, if she knows how to flaunt it and look fabulous, then she is definitely It in my book.

If we are talking about general "it" girls in our everyday lives then sure it is the person who grasps everyones attention anytime they walk into a room. They have an inner and out glow that is envied by all. Above I was referring to the book series and "it" girls in the general media like Paris Hilton. They live a life that very few of the population actually live, yet we all find great interest in.

THE DEFINITION OF AN "IT" GIRL: (in my opinion)- An IT girl is the person who impacts other people's lives positively. And by this, I mean when we all have our ups and downs - I think of that girl as IT. The solution. An IT girl is also someone who stands out vibrantly and doesn't need money, fame, riches to make her important. She's got enough self value, self respect, and compassion for everyone to make her stand out and can make a thrift store item look like a million dollars, making the spoiled rich ones even envious. An IT girl has a personality that's charismatic, everyone is drawn to her in some way, something she may say, or she's just a born leader or simply persuasive.

When you're the IT girl, it seems to be a cliche that you have be this goddess and it could simply be the girl next girl door that people just adore and the guys fall in love with easily because she rocks her personality, style, and everything else to goodness.

I think being an "It girl" means that you are trendy and very stylish. Money or no money, you make what you have work and people envy your taste in style. Obviously, right now to be an "It girl" you have to stay on top of the latest winter fashions, but if you want to be the center of glam, you're looking months in advance to make sure that you have the current and future trend ready, first. :) It's not about the money. There are celebs that shop that thrift stores to get a cute vintage tote or a 70s vintage 3 inch thick, canary yellow, cloth belt. It's about how you carry yourself and that "It girl" carries herself as being humble, and yet shows confindence.

I agree with Ruth. It has nothing to do with being rich or being pretty. Its the way you carry yourself. You don't need to be rich to be stylish or trendy.

a girl who is intelligent, you dont have to have money to be the best, a true IT Girl can go to goodwill or a thrift shop and still look good, labels are for phonies.
It Girls, everyone wants to be them self, self confidence, doesn't care with others thinks, striving the best she can do and not who's more popular and that crap. An it girl inst cocky either, or omg look what i have, shed be the last person to brag and having respect for her body and herself. It's about who she is, how she carries herself and all-around, what kind of person she is.
